general information regarding members privileges and obligations.
Application for
Membership
An application for Membership can be made by submitting a completed
form to the Committee.

Membership Fee
There is currently an annual membership fee of $45. The membership fee is set by the Committee and
may change as the Committee sees fit. People with 10 years continuous
membership of the Society may apply for Life Membership. Details of
how to apply are available from the Membership Secretary.
Social Activities
Various social activities take place during the year, and all members
are welcome to attend. Some activities are open to outsiders, and partners/friends
of members are always welcome.
Workshops
The Society runs a number of workshops on theatrical craft during the
year. These workshops are open to the public, but members receive a
discount if they wish to participate.
Newsletter
The Society newsletter for financial members, the Palace Peeper, is
published 6 times a year, keeping members up to date with the latest
Society information. This includes activities, shows, auditions, concerts,
gossip and other items of general interest.
Concert Party
A Concert Party is available to perform at various functions and venues.
Auditions for this group are held annually
Performing and
Auditions
Members of the Society wishing to perform in productions are required
to audition before they can participate. As well as this general audition,
Musical DIrectors and Directors may decide to audition individual chorus
members. Anyone wishing to take on a principal role needs to prepare
and present the set audition selection for that role during the formal
auditions for the show. All performers must be members of the society
A performance fee is payable by all members taking part in a show. This
is in addition to the membership fee, and is currently set to $25 (concession
available to holder of a current health care card, and to heads of production
areas).
Other Activities
There are many different activities required to make a Society such
as ours work. All people working on production, front of house, costumes,
set, design, administration, publicity, tickets, management etcetera
are volunteers. Anyone wishing to help in any area will be welcomed
with open arms.
Legal
The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Victoria Inc is a non-profit association
incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act, 1981 in the
State of Victoria. A complete copy of the Society's Rules is available
to members upon application.
